Job description

Summary
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position:
This vacancy is Engineering Technician position, GS-0802-07/08/09 with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Little Rock District located at Little Rock, Arkansas. This position will be filled at either GS-07, GS-08 or GS-09 grade level.

Help
  • You will perform engineering assignments by applying and adapting engineering methods and precedents.
  • You will utilize CADD systems to create, modify, and manage complex project drawings within established guidelines which ensure final plans provide all necessary construction details.
  • You will gather, assemble, and edit contract specifications.
  • You will coordinate with design engineers to proofread technical documents for timely completion of assignments.
  • You will make necessary computations which include reviewing design criteria to ensure pertinent data is reflected in final drawings,

Specialized Experience:
Specialized Experience for GS-07: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes entering technical data into logs, spreadsheets, or databases. This includes performing basic checks of data for completeness and obvious errors including organizing records as directed. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Specialized Experience for GS-08: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing technical work in Computer-Aided Design and Drafting software (CADD: AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D) or Building Information Modeling processes (BIM: Revit) to complete assigned segments of engineering project designs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Specialized Experience for GS-09: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-08 grade level in the Federal service which includes independently performing technical work with Computer-Aided Design and Drafting software (CADD: AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D), and Building Information Modeling processes (BIM: Revit) in the development and submission of design of basic military and civil works building and infrastructure systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
