Job Location: Vishay Dale Electronics, Columbus, NE is one of the world's largest manufacturers of resistors and e-beam technology.

Position Summary: Responsible for review, design and implementation of test capability including equipment, fixtures, test methods and test limits to assure precise, error free, efficient testing. Directs testing of Vishay products in accordance with military, customer and corporate engineering and Quality department specifications.

What you will be doing:

  • Maintains contact with internal customers by phone, correspondence and direct interaction, and with Vishay customers by interface with Engineering and Quality Control personnel.
  • Indentifies need for design and implementation of test capability including equipment, fixtures, setups, calibration, training and performance of all product tests in the Test Lab. This includes power distribution, electronic controls, recorders, data acquisition and all types of mechanical and electrical test equipment and test fixtures for Vishay products.
  • Identifies the performance maintenance needs of all Test Lab equipment to see that objective evidence of controlled and monitored testing is part of the data collected.
  • Initiates and/or participates in test method or test capability design improvement on a continuing basis to maintain state-of-the-art product testing or to improve efficiency or accuracy.
  • Responsible for identifying the proper Test Lab equipment, which includes a wide variety of electrical, mechanical and environmental test equipment and fixtures for Vishay products. Testing involves use of mainframe computers, mini-computers; PC controlled reading stations, terminals, software, printers, and LAN networking with various interfaces and programming interfacing programs as necessary.

What you will bring along:

  • 1 - 2 years with background in an electronic component manufacturing or testing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and capability.
  • A broad knowledge of general technical fields such as chemical, electrical, industrial, programming, or mechanical engineering. Related manufacturing, maintenance, and programming experience also qualifies.
