About the job: Embark on a new career journey to shape the future as an Espey Engineering Test Specialist, where you will be part of a team crafting transformers & power supplies destined for military and industrial products. The Engineering Test Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products by executing tests that thoroughly evaluate unit performance and functionality according to customer specifications. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify testing requirements, develop test plans, execute test cases, and analyze results to drive improvements in product quality. Engineering Test Specialist Key Responsibilities including, but not limited to:

· Complete test setup, troubleshoot issues, collect data, complete analysis and prepare recommendations for next steps.

· Operate thermal chambers and vibration tables to test ruggedized equipment for military and industrial readiness

· Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate hardware functionality, performance, and reliability

· Produce acceptance test procedures, qualification test procedures, work instructions, and other pertinent documentation by using product specification and design documentation methodology.

· Collaborate with product managers, specialists, designers, drafters, and quality assurance teams to understand requirements and translate them into comprehensive test strategies

· Design, implement, and execute testing frameworks and tools to streamline the testing process and improve efficiency.

· Identify and report defects using a systematic approach, including detailed descriptions and reproduction steps.

· Perform root cause analysis for identified issues and work closely with development teams to resolve them in a timely manner.

· Continuously evaluate and improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance overall product quality.

· Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and testing tools to drive innovation and efficiency in testing efforts.

· Analyze existing test equipment to determine test setups, needed improvements, and next steps

· Specify and recommend new test equipment & procedures when needed

· Complete test setup, troubleshooting, data collection and analysis; drafts and submits test reports for customer submittals

· Determine test requirements to maintain, repair, troubleshoot, monitor, and operate high voltage electrical systems including, but not limited to, transformers, switching stations, circuit breakers and stored energy systems

· Review and analyze a variety of engineering data, proposals, customer specifications, documents, & reports to determine testing requirements; provides input into proposals as needed.

· Consult with design specialists to ensure that specified engineering criteria are suitable for the proposed application, and recommend revisions, as appropriate.

· Prioritize personal responsibility for safety and the safety of internal customers by continuously and proactively correcting unsafe conditions/behaviors

Required Qualifications:

· Education & experience qualifications in any combination of:

o High School Diploma or equivalent with minimum 2 years’ experience as an engineering test lab or electronics test technician in an industrial setting, or

o High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 years’ experience as a Navy Nuclear Electronics Test Technician, or

o Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with minimum of 1 year experience as an engineering test lab or electronics test technician in an industrial setting

· Must be 18 years or older

· Must be able to work full time

· Must be US citizen with ability to secure a US Government security clearance; Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for access to export controlled data.

· Travel is required and dependent on customer needs; up to 10% annually

Preferred Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent field or equivalent military experience

· Experience in working in manufacturing or production environments supporting military or industrial products

· Proven experience in software & hardware testing, including test planning, test case design, and test automation.

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

· Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

· Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations & mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

· Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

· Experience with performance testing tools and methodologies

· Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.

· Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

· Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as required by production schedules.
