Job description

Primary Duties:
  • Ensure that all production - related equipment in the plant is maintained in a state of repair, to achieve efficiency and effectiveness with proper uptime, yields and throughput.
  • Develops/maintains/supervises/predictive maintenance systems to ensure optimum equipment reliability.
  • Develops/maintains equipment FMEA's to ensure that critical failure modes are identified and addressed.
  • Audits preventative/predictive inspections and programs to ensure effectiveness.
  • Participates in team analysis for problem solving of major breakdowns.
  • Coordinates shutdowns for proper manning and materials needed.
  • Standardize and maintain across all line's best workmanship best practice.
  • To instigate studies and actions to overcome technical downtime problems, to reduce waste and improve team performance.
  • Develop/maintain total preventive maintenance program to enhance link between maintenance and production.
  • Develop/maintain shutdown programs to ensure proper equipment conditions are maintained.
  • Ensure all spare parts necessary for proper equipment maintenance are kept at optimum levels to provide equipment reliability and reduce costs.
  • Communicate effectively with employees at all levels to ensure matters of mutual concern are addressed and resolved.
  • Ensure employees are provided appropriate guidance, counseling, or recognition on matters related to job performance. Maintain constructive and candid relationships by addressing issues in a timely manner.
  • Direct and coordinate problem solving activities utilizing the Pilkington 8 step problem solving model.
  • To organize and continually monitor the procurement of necessary spare parts to ensure machine uptime and capabilities. Ensure that the spare parts meet the engineering standards, updating engineering standards as required. Reducing spare part inventory by parts planning through preventive maintenance work orders.
  • Initiate capex plans to ensure that these meet business needs. Assist design engineers with new investment plans.
  • To assist in the commissioning of new plant equipment and other systems to ensure that this introduction into the production facility is handled efficiently and within minimum disruption.

Qualifications Required:
  • Associate's degree in Engineering Technology
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt communication style to interact with a wide variety of people.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize objectives and targets to meet deadlines.
  • Strong in results oriented, adaptable, standards driven, developing, influential and informative competencies.

Qualifications Desired:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technically related field.
  • Maintenance Experience
  • Six Sigma Green Belt training
  • Strong in analytical, innovative, and strategic competencies
  • ABB robot experience
  • 3D Cad experience
