Structural Engineering Project Manager

Job Post Summary

An established engineering firm is seeking a Structural Engineering Project Manager to lead structural building projects from design through construction support. The role involves managing engineering documentation, coordinating with project teams, mentoring junior engineers, handling client communication, and overseeing project delivery across multiple building types and materials. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in structural systems, project leadership experience, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.

Job Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead structural engineering building projects from concept through completion

  • Develop, coordinate, and manage engineering project documents

  • Prepare project proposals, contracts, and project schedules

  • Manage workload distribution and timelines for project staff

  • Oversee structural calculations, analysis, and design activities

  • Coordinate with engineers and BIM Designers on construction documentation

  • Review design details and ensure compliance with project requirements

  • Conduct or oversee construction observations and prepare reports

  • Review shop drawings and support construction phase activities

  • Evaluate additional service requests and manage billing coordination

  • Respond to permit review comments and construction support requests

  • Build and maintain long term client relationships

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers within the team

Qualifications and Certifications
