The Project Manager is responsible for the project management, leadership, profitability and client management for a design team. Responsibilities include project management, financial performance, loss prevention, budgeting, workload and staff balancing, preparation of technical proposals, monitoring of project budgets, staff supervision and scheduling of key projects. 

The Project Manager will maintain presence and leadership throughout the regions where we do business through involvement in civic, professional and business organizations. This is a leadership position that also includes mentoring and developing staff.

Responsibilities
  • Project Management in the areas of Land Development Plan Design, Stormwater Management Design, Water and Sanitary Sewer Design and Erosion and Sedimentation Control Design.
  • Manage team assignments and balance workload in a deadline driven environment.
  • Provide vision and guidance to the firm in the area of Project Management.
  • Drive growth of the company's business model and promote business development.
  • Quality Control.
  • Permitting of federal, state and local regulatory agencies.
  • Provide technical assistance to staff and clients in resolving problems.
  • Prepare presentations to various land use related boards and jurisdictional agencies.
  • Building and managing client relationships, program and project management, promoting and selling strategic alliances.
  • Prepare proposals.
  • Guide, manage and support the delivery of projects and programs to ensure quality, and on-schedule and on-budget completion.
  • Financial management of projects including accounts receivable.
  • Lead projects through hands-on project management and actively manage the project plan, deliverables, dependencies and outcome of assigned projects to ensure projects are on-schedule and on budget.
  • Client management and overall satisfaction.
  • Mentor and develop staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 7+ years' experience in Civil Site Engineering (residential, institutional, industrial, and/or commercial site design and permitting experience).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration required.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to maintain and operate personal and/or company vehicle.
  • Familiar with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Knowledge of Truck and Turning & Modeling software.
  • In depth knowledge of the planning and zoning processes.
  • Knowledge of Hydrologic and Hydraulic Stormwater Design.
  • Proficient in design and drafting capabilities.
  • Proficient grading and drainage design skills.
  • Utility design experience including pump station and force mains.
  • Experience dealing with regulatory agencies and review professionals.
  • Proficient in the use of available mapping websites for due diligence and site investigation purposes.
  • Construction oversight experience for site work.
  • Proficient in the use of the following design tools for site engineering:
    • AutoCAD Civil3D
    • Hydrology Software i.e. Hydraflow, HydroCAD, PondPack
    • Hydraulic Software i.e. Hydraflow, StormCAD, Storm and Sanitary Analysis (SSA)
    • HEC-RAS
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Software including Word, Excel, Outlook and Project.
  • Proficient in the use of Bluebeam Revu and/or Adobe to prepare design document markups.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Independent and critical thinking abilities.
  • Superior organizational and delegation ability.
  • Ability to work and lead in a team-oriented environment with a focus on staff development and mentoring.
  • Client management experience.
