The Hangout Myrtle Beach is seeking a hospitality-driven Operations Manager to lead our management team and play a key role in shaping our brand's reputation in the community and beyond.


Position Overview

The Operations Manager is a leadership role focused on delivering an exceptional guest experience through operational excellence, team development, and market engagement. This position will directly supervise the General Manager and management team, oversee day-to-day restaurant and event operations, and drive growth through strategic partnerships, special events, and brand positioning.

This role is perfect for a leader who is equally passionate about hospitality, team culture, business development, and creating moments guests will remember.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations Oversight

  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and leadership to the General Manager and the management team to ensure operational excellence.
  • Foster a culture centered around hospitality, ensuring that every guest experience is warm, engaging, and aligned with The Hangout’s high-energy, inclusive environment.
  • Champion a hands-on leadership style that inspires staff to exceed expectations in service delivery and personal connection with guests.
  • Establish and uphold performance standards, service quality, and guest satisfaction across all departments.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination between front-of-house, back-of-house, and event teams to ensure seamless operations and consistently excellent service.

Strategic Business Development

  • Develop and maintain key partnerships in the local and regional marketplace to drive group business.
  • Target opportunities within the sports travel industry, tour operators, and corporate event space to increase bookings and overall brand exposure.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to build and execute B2B sales strategies tailored to The Hangout’s unique experience offerings.

Special Events & Programming

  • Lead the ideation, planning, and execution of on-site special events that enhance the guest experience and build community engagement.
  • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to deliver events that reflect the spirit of The Hangout.
  • Evaluate event performance and guest feedback to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Brand Positioning & Community Engagement

  • Serve as a community ambassador for The Hangout, actively participating in local partnerships, charitable initiatives, and outreach programs.
  • Coordinate with the home office marketing team to align on branding, promotions, and messaging that resonate with the Myrtle Beach market.
  • Drive local relevance and top-of-mind awareness through consistent community presence and event activation.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Maintain strong communication with executive leadership and the home office, providing updates on operational performance, strategic initiatives, and guest experience metrics.
  • Use data and insights to inform decisions and optimize operations.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of senior operations leadership experience in hospitality, entertainment, or high-volume restaurant/event venues.
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams focused on guest satisfaction and hospitality.
  • Strong background in event programming, business development, and community engagement.
