Job Description

Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the division's Operations function. Responsible for performing all department functions—manufacturing, Material Management, Sourcing, Distribution, and Product Engineering. Manages the overall P&L for assigned locations.

  • Responsible for the overall management of the P&L for the Jackson domestic product. Plans and controls resources and spending related to this business unit.
  • Uses lean manufacturing tools to manage and drive continuous improvement throughout Jackson manufacturing and distribution operation, focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost
  • Ensure a safe and productive workforce by thoroughly knowing OSHA safety, building codes, and all manufacturing-related requirements and regulations.
  • Lead the facility's development, justification, and implementation of the capital improvement budget.
  • Works cross-functionally with the marketing and sales team to develop the business unit's short—and long-term product roadmap. Leads the development of cost estimates for planned new products.
  • Implement Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and other improvement initiatives to drive operational maturity, plant efficiencies, productivity, and order fulfillment and achieve optimal plant capacities.
  • Reviews performance against operating plans and standards. Reports to subordinates on interpreting results and approves changes in the direction of plans.
  • Defines and recommends objectives in each area of operations. Develops specific short-term and long-term plans and programs, together with supporting budget requests and financial estimates.
  • Develops and works to build a high-performing team to drive performance improvement and enable the continued growth of the MIND business.
  • Drives value improvement in the business through design engineering and sourcing activities to reduce the material cost of products and packaging.
  • Reviews and works to reduce compressor product warranty costs by improving the product and packaging. Monitors warranty cost dollars and PPM are defective to prioritize activity and resources.
  • Monitors On-Time and in-full (OTIF) metrics to ensure delivery performance exceeds customer expectations. Drive improvement activities to reduce lead time and improve OTIF metrics. Communicate and manage issues when they occur through the commercial team.
  • Develops and recommends operations policy within the facility. Works with human resources to implement and maintain compliance with corporate human resource policies.
  • All other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
  • 3+ years as a General Manager in a manufacturing environment, with the responsibilities of producing, purchasing, inventory control, production control, and engineering, as well as shipping, receiving, and warehousing
  • Ten+ years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of SAP or other enterprise resource planning software
