Job description

Position Summary
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Must be able to troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul equipment in several maintenance systems (i.e.) machining, electrical, plumbing, or welding. Must maintain a full general tool assortment as well as a basic assortment of precision measuring tools. General qualifications include but are not limited to the following: to ensure all safety and work rules are followed. Must be responsible for maintenance of equipment records, and administration of preventative maintenance programs. Must be able to read blueprints and plans for construction at plant level.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Machinery Operation: Operate manual lathes, milling machines, drilling presses, and grinders to produce or repair mechanical parts.
  2. Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine machining requirements and sequences of operations.
  3. Quality Control: Measure and inspect finished products using precision tools like calipers and micrometers to ensure they meet specifications.
  4. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. Must be able to troubleshoot and repair all equipment not requiring a technician in a minimum amount of time.
  5. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production metrics and document any deviations from standard specifications.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/ NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Proficiency in using manual machining tools and understanding of measurement tools and their applications.
  2. Must be able to operate and maintain all equipment at Parker.
  3. Responsible for proper administration of LOTO, confined space, and other OSHA guidelines.
  4. May assist in design of process or modification of existing equipment.
  5. Must be able to follow instructions and handle challenging tasks in stride.
  6. May function in other duties when required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/ SCOPE:
  • Report directly to the Plant Manufacturing Engineering Manager
  • Work closely with Maintenance to resolve issues with the equipment

Physical Conditions:
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  1. Required PPE:
    1. Safety glasses
    2. ANSI Z41 Safety Shoes
  2. Standing is required for extended periods of time. Carrying, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling are done on a frequent basis. Climbing, stooping, and grasping are performed on an occasional basis.
  3. Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions.
  4. Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime.
  5. Must be able to work in a factory environment with exposure to welding arcs, welding gases, steam, high voltage, inclement weather, heights, high water pressure, confined spaces, and unguarded machinery for troubleshooting
