Normal work week is between 10-20 hours. Available times: Mondays-Fridays 9am-5pm
Hours will be arranged around the student's academic schedule and the needs of the microbiology laboratory sections. Some tasks must be completed before or after scheduled laboratory sessions. The student may occasionally work independently after receiving instructions from the laboratory supervisor.

The Microbiology Laboratory Assistant supports undergraduate teaching laboratories by helping set up and take down weekly lab activities, wash and organize glassware and reusable equipment, and maintain a clean and orderly biology preparation room. Applicants should be dependable, detail-oriented, and able to follow instructions and work independently with limited supervision. Preference will be given to science majors who have completed at least one college-level laboratory science course. 
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Preference given to students who are eligible for the university's work-study employment program.
Must be currently enrolled as a student.
Must have successfully completed at least one college-level laboratory science course.
Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
Must be dependable, punctual, and attentive to detail.
Must be able to work independently and demonstrate initiative and self-direction.
Must be willing to perform routine cleaning, dishwashing, and laboratory maintenance duties.
Must be able to work safely around laboratory equipment, biological materials, cleaning products, and disinfectants.
 
Preferred Qualifications
Major or intended major in biology, chemistry, environmental science, nursing, pre-health, or another science-related field.
Previous experience in a biology or microbiology laboratory.
Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment, glassware, and safety practices.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
