Job description

Overview

Raytheon Engineering designs, produces, and builds new technologies and enhances existing capabilities to solve our customer’s most complex challenges. The Apertures and Radio Frequency Department is a team of engineers responsible for electrical design and development of RF products within Raytheon. The Lab Lead shall ensure lab personnel operate to standard lab run rules and applicable RF & Microelectronics policies within the lab, ensuring compliance with Safety, Quality controls, 6S, FOD/FOE, Equipment Calibration, Raytheon Property controls, ESD controls, Housekeeping, Shelf‑life Controls, Preventative Maintenance, and Ergonomics. This position is an onsite role, located in McKinney, TX.

Responsibilities
  • Lab Operating Procedure (LOP) Management; provide direction for lab users on established policies.
  • Management coordination and implementation of Environmental Health Safety and Sustainment Property & Metrology Management, including maintenance of equipment service contracts and ongoing equipment repairs.
  • Perform cost analysis, ensure task completion within approved budgets.
  • Perform lab purchase requests through SAP, SRM, and Vallen, while providing process support to Supply Chain Management.
  • Oversee audit/assessment preparation.
  • Oversee Engineering Lab Objective Evaluation and Voluntary Protection Program, develop corrective action plans and assist in the development of long‑range objectives, including engineering customer goals.
  • Safeguard classified/proprietary material, hardware, and documentation, utilizing defense material/property under Export Administration Regulations.
  • Develop and implement communication plans, providing consulting support to functional and engineering customer management.
  • Influence stakeholders within and outside responsible areas at an operational level regarding policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Work autonomously with limited oversight; provide professional input, guidance, and problem solving.
  • Perform occasional local travel or travel outside the local area as required.
  • Position is onsite in McKinney, TX.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is required; minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience in an engineering lab environment overseeing or implementing safety, security, compliance and/or property management.
  • Experience in coordination and implementation of Environmental Health Safety and Sustainment.
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical/electronic skills.
  • Experience with OSHA/NFPA industrial policies and regulations.
  • Experience working directly with engineers, technicians and leadership in an engineering lab environment in the areas of safety, security, compliance and property management.
  • Experience with EHS, NISPOM, JAFAN and Foreign Object Elimination.
  • Ability to organize and track Capital and Expense assets.
  • Ability to build positive, lasting relationships with customers.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
