Shift Details:

We are hiring for a part time Activity Assistant to work every Tuesday and Wednesday and every other 1/2 day Saturday -- with a potential need for holidays/weekends for special events.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a positive working relationship with all residents, resident family members, and associates. Maintain a high degree of resident, family and guest satisfaction and retention through consistent delivery of high-quality services.
  • Effectively and appropriately communicate with each co-worker and community leader.
  • Maintain a positive image with the community.
  • Maintain an atmosphere of stability.
  • Assist life enrichment director with coordinating/facilitating activities and events for residents, both inside and outside the community, designed to promote resident’s creativity, physical and mental well-being, socialization, and fun!
  • Encourage resident socialization and participation in activities and events to minimize resident solidarity and promote a positive community environment.
  • Maintain inventory checklist of all supplies and materials required to enhance life enrichment program. Assign tasks to volunteers and encourage their participation in community events and activities programs. Provide administrative duties to support the life enrichment team as assigned by the life enrichment director. Help welcome new residents upon move-in (balloons and framed announcement, shadow box/shelves decorated, etc.)
  • Work alongside care staff to transport residents to activities and events.
  • Drive community vehicle as needed to take residents to an appointment or outing.
  • Continue to develop job related knowledge, skills and abilities by participating in continuing educational opportunities for personal growth and development.
  • Complete and adhere to all other tasks and responsibilities set by the direct supervisor
  • Regular and predictable attendance daily.

Qualifications, skills, and abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • One to two years of related work experience preferred
  • SERVE Safe Certified (or able to achieve certification)
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Ability to work with the elderly in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to safely handle food in accordance with facility policies and procedures, as well as all state and federal regulations.
  • Valid driver license in state of operation with an acceptable driving record and ability to safely drive community vehicle.
