About the Role

Coleman Company, Inc. is seeking a curious, driven, and highly motivated Engineering Intern to join our team in Savannah, GA. This role is ideal for a student who wants real project exposure rather than busywork. This internship is for someone eager to learn how land development actually comes together, from field data to finished construction documents. The Engineering Intern will work alongside experienced engineers, designers, and survey professionals, gaining hands-on experience across both civil engineering and land surveying disciplines.

This individual will support the design, documentation, and delivery of a wide range of project types including single-family residential, multifamily, commercial, industrial, and municipal public works. The role includes meaningful time in both the office and the field, with direct mentorship from licensed professionals.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a student currently enrolled in a civil engineering or land surveying program with strong analytical instincts, a genuine interest in the industry, and the discipline to produce accurate work. The ideal candidate is a true collaborator, someone who asks great questions, takes ownership of assignments, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support civil engineering projects through research, design documentation, and basic engineering calculations.
  • Utilize AutoCAD/Civil 3D and similar design software to develop drawings, plans, and exhibits.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of construction documents, including specifications and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate closely with engineering, planning, and survey teams to deliver accurate, on-schedule work.
  • Participate in site visits, field survey work, and client meetings to observe project management and field operations firsthand.
  • Learn and apply industry standards, codes, and regulations relevant to civil engineering and surveying.
  • Assist in drafting technical reports, summaries, and project presentations.
  • Maintain organized and accurate project records and documentation.
  • Embrace mentorship and pursue professional growth in a dynamic work environment.
  • Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering or Land Surveying program at an accredited university (required).
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in civil engineering or land surveying.
