Job description

We work alongside the best and brightest to do incredibly cool things you wouldn’t believe.  At Roush, you’re part of building the future.  Are you someone that has a passion for providing innovative solutions to complex challenges?  Do you want to work someplace where creativity and new ideas are encouraged?  If so, then keep reading.
We fuse technology and engineering to provide product development solutions to customers in a diverse range of industries. Widely recognized for providing engineering, testing, prototype, and manufacturing services to the transportation industry, Roush also provides significant support to the aerospace, defense and theme park industries.  With over 2,400 employees in facilities throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, and South America, our unique combination of creativity and tenacity activates big ideas on a global stage.
We offer a full array of benefits to our full-time employees, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, earned sick time, STD, LTD, 401K, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation, and paid holidays.
The Senior Engineering Design Integration Specialist supports engineering execution by leading CAD quality reviews, CAD process adherence, design peer reviews, digital compatibility reviews, CAD-to-BOM alignment, and CAD-related operational readiness activities.
This role serves as a process and quality-focused liaison between Engineering, Operations, Program Management, and the Design organization. The position ensures CAD data, design structure, release readiness, and digital compatibility are reviewed early and consistently to reduce rework, release issues, build conflicts, and downstream program risk.
This role does not replace or duplicate the responsibilities of the Design group. The Design organization remains responsible for CAD design creation, CAD modeling, drawing creation, GD&T application, design execution, designer task assignments, design team leadership, and formal design deliverables. This Engineering Operations role supports review structure, process discipline, issue visibility, CAD/BOM alignment, and communication of program CAD resource needs to Design leadership.
As a Senior Engineering Design Integration Specialist, you will:
  • Lead CAD quality and process adherence: Support CAD quality expectations, CAD data organization, model structure, file naming, release readiness, and adherence to applicable CAD/process standards. Identify recurring CAD quality or process gaps and communicate concerns to Engineering, Operations, and Design leadership
  • Lead design peer reviews: Schedule, organize, and facilitate design peer reviews for assigned engineering programs. Ensure reviews assess design maturity, integration risks, packaging concerns, manufacturability, serviceability, release readiness, and alignment to program requirements. Document actions, owners, risks, and closure status
  • Perform and lead digital compatibility reviews: Lead digital compatibility checks prior to release or build milestones, including packaging reviews, interface checks, clearance studies, clash/interference reviews, installation feasibility, service access, and integration concerns. Ensure findings are documented and communicated to responsible engineering or design owners for resolution
  • Perform CAD-to-BOM alignment checks: Review CAD structure against engineering BOMs to identify mismatches in part usage, assembly structure, naming, revision level, released content, quantities, and configuration. Work with Engineering, Design, Release, Operations, and Program teams to ensure gaps are visible and assigned for correction
  • Serve as operational liaison to the Design group: Communicate engineering program needs, CAD timing risks, resource constraints, review priorities, and design support requirements to Design leadership. Support planning discussions by conveying needed CAD/design resources but does not assign work to Design personnel or manage Design team priorities
  • Support quote development and planning: Support new business quote development by identifying CAD review scope, digital compatibility needs, CAD/BOM alignment effort, design resource assumptions, release readiness activities, review cadence, and execution risks that may affect timing, cost, or program delivery
  • Support CAD process improvement and lessons learned: Develop and maintain CAD quality checklists, peer review templates, digital compatibility review standards, CAD/BOM alignment methods, process documentation, and lessons learned. Recommend process improvements based on recurring issues identified during reviews
To be considered as a Senior Engineering Design Integration Specialist, you will need:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in CAD design, product design, engineering support, engineering services, prototype development, product release, design integration, or a related technical environment
  • Experience working with CAD systems, product structures, assemblies, drawings, released design data, or engineering BOMs
  • Experience supporting design reviews, CAD quality checks, packaging reviews, release readiness reviews, CAD/BOM reviews, or product development programs
  • Experience coordinating with engineering, design, program management, operations, release, build, or cross-functional technical teams
  • Strong understanding of CAD best practices, design structure, part/assembly organization, engineering release workflows, and product development processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint or similar systems
  • Strong working knowledge of CAD data, CAD structure, product organization, design integration, and release readiness
  • Ability to facilitate peer reviews and digital compatibility reviews without assuming responsibility for the actual design deliverables owned by Engineering or Design
  • Ability to identify CAD quality, integration, packaging, release, and BOM alignment concerns
  • Ability to document issues clearly, assign follow-up actions to appropriate owners, and track closure
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Engineering, Design, Operations, Program Management, Release, and Build teams
  • Ability to identify CAD/design resource needs and communicate those needs to the Operations Manager, Engineering leadership, and Design leadership
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple review activities across programs
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced engineering services or prototype development environment

A successful candidate may also have:
  • Associate degree, bachelor's degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in engineering technology, mechanical design, product design, CAD design, manufacturing, or a related technical field
  • 10+ years of experience in CAD design, product development, engineering services, automotive, aerospace, defense, commercial vehicle, mobility, prototype, or low-volume manufacturing environments
  • Experience with CATIA, NX, Creo, SolidWorks, Teamcenter, Enovia, Windchill, or similar CAD/PLM systems
  • Experience supporting gated product development, engineering release, design peer reviews, digital compatibility reviews, package reviews, BOM reviews, or prototype build readiness.
  • Familiarity with GD&T, DFM/DFA, drawing release, revision control, engineering change management, and configuration management
  • Experience developing CAD standards, design checklists, release checklists, process documentation, or lessons learned
  • Working knowledge of product development processes, prototype build readiness, engineering change management, CAD-to-BOM alignment, and release quality expectations
  • Ability to advise on CAD process, CAD structure, review methods, and release readiness best practices while leaving final design direction and CAD execution with the Design and Engineering owners
  • Ability to develop and maintain CAD quality standards, review templates, procedures, checklists, and process documentation
  • Ability to support quote development by estimating CAD review scope, CAD/BOM alignment effort, digital compatibility effort, and related execution risks
  • Ability to identify recurring CAD/process gaps and convert them into lessons learned, standard work, or process improvements
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct reporting authority

Our full-time benefits include: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, earned sick time, STD, LTD, 401K, tuition reimbursement, employee referral bonuses, paid vacation, paid holidays.
