Job description

Echodyne is seeking a Chief Engineer to join our fast-growing team. At Echodyne, we believe radar makes the world safer and more secure in the age of autonomy. We are seeking a Chief Engineer to join our team designing and manufacturing high-performance radar products.RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Chief Engineer, you will define and drive the technical vision for Echodyne's next-generation radar products. You will lead the design, development, and sustainment of advanced radar systems that integrate Echodyne's innovative MESA technology with complex hardware and software subsystems. The Chief Engineer collaborates across a world-class, multidisciplinary engineering team to translate product requirements into robust and achievable system architectures, guide concurrent development efforts, and ensure seamless integration and exceptional performance across all subsystems. Your leadership will be critical in Echodyne delivering innovative, reliable, and high-impact products that set new standards in radar technology.

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
  • MS Degree or higher in Engineering
  • 7 or more years of experience in engineering  of electronic products
  • Experience leading a multi-disciplinary engineering team developing hybrid products and systems comprised of broad spectrum of hardware and software components, such as:
  • Electrical Printed Circuit Board Assemblies, including digital, analog, mixed signal, and RF circuits
  • Mechanical components and assemblies with structural, shielding, and thermal management functions
  • Custom, semicustom, programmable, and off-the-shelf digital and mixed signal integrated circuits
  • Embedded firmware, embedded operating system, and application-level software
  • Middleware and companion applications that interface with hardware platforms
  • Demonstrated leadership in system architecture definition and decomposition, including definition of systems and subsystems requirements
  • Experience with Design for Excellence methodologies and Continuous Improvement to achieve designs that are producible, reliable, durable, and perform as expected
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to align technical execution with strategic business goals and effectively engage stakeholders across engineering, product and leadership teams
  • Experience identifying, assessing, and managing technical and programmatic risk through the establishment of an appropriate risk posture and developing mitigation strategies
  • Ability to provide technical mentorship and team development through fostering a culture of innovation, accountability and growth
DESIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Experience developing FMCW or Pulse-Doppler radar systems
  • Experience with Inertial and/or GPS navigation systems
