Town of Marana Marana is one of the fastest growing communities in Southern Arizona, located approximately 20 minutes northwest of downtown Tucson and 75 minutes southeast of Phoenix. Position Description The Town of Marana is seeking a Recreation Aide to work in the Senior Center Division of the Parks and Recreation Department.

This position will operate out of the Town's Senior Center and make a direct impact on the lives of seniors in the community. Recreation Aides assist in the daily programming and activities produced by the Senior Division. In addition, Recreation Aides will have the opportunity to assist in Town-wide recreational programs and events.

Pursuant to the Marana Town Code, Sections 3-1-2(D) and 3-1-3(B), and the current Salary Schedule implemented by the Town Manager, the position of Recreation Aide is defined as an Unclassified position. Unclassified positions are at-will employees and employment that may be terminated upon the will of the employer or employee at any time with or without cause. Preferred Availability: Weekdays (8 AM - 5 PM), some nights & weekends.

DURATION: Temporary seasonal role; a new assignment for the next season may be made available based on performance and business needs. Summer Season: March 1 - July 31 Fall Season: August 1 - November 30 Winter Season: December 1 - February 28 Hiring Rate: $16.00 per hour Returning Marana employees may be eligible for a $0.25/hour increase for each returning year up to a maximum pay rate of $17.00/hour. Work Location: Ora Mae Harn Senior Center 13250 North Lon Adams Road Marana, AZ 85653 Examples of Duties Recreation Aides provide support to recreation staff to ensure the best delivery of recreation programs

Schedules will vary by program area and include daytime, evening and holidays shifts. Leads assigned recreation programs; prepares and sets up for program activities; maintains facilities and equipment; performs other duties related to conducting programs.

Provides excellent customer service. Performs light administrative work by completing documents; files, makes and receives phone calls regarding programs. Assists with Special Interest programs; paint nights, youth breaks/camps, and events.

Assists with Senior Programs and Activities. Required to work signature events and community events. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 16 years of age by the application deadline (September 7, 2026) Must pass fingerprint clearance background check Must pass the Town of Marana background check Must pass a pre-employment physical and a 25-pound lift test PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent 6 months experience working as a recreation aide, sports official or in a closely related field in multiple settings with different age groups.
