Job description

Murray County is accepting applications for a full-time County Engineer.

The regular work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

This position is open until filled, with the first review of applications scheduled for May 27, 2026.

Under the direction of the Murray County Board of Commissioners, the County Engineer is responsible, pursuant to Minnesota statute, for the planning, construction, and maintenance of all county highways and bridges. This position coordinates internal and external efforts related to the design, construction, and ongoing operations of capital highway improvements and related projects. The County Engineer supervises the activities of county engineering, highway maintenance, equipment maintenance, ditch inspection, and administrative services within the Highway Department.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and at least five years of experience in transportation planning, budgeting, or administration. Must be a Licensed Professional Engineer and possess a valid driver’s license.

Salary: $60.75 – $78.97 per hour
