Job Description Title: Assembly Technician Location: Batavia, IL 60510 Pay Rate: $30-$35/hr Hours: 1st Shift Hire Type: Contract (5 months, potential for conversion) Benefits: As a contract employee of Sterling, you are eligible to receive a Full Employee Benefits Package that includes paid time off, paid holidays, 3 medical plans to choose from, dental & vision plans, 401(k), and an Employee Stock Ownership (ESOP) plan. We are seeking an experienced Assembly Technician to support heavy assembly operations in a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on system and component-level assembly, requiring strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools and equipment used in heavy builds. Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform heavy mechanical assembly of systems and components
  • Utilize torque wrenches and other hand/power tools to ensure proper assembly
  • Assist with the movement and positioning of heavy equipment using floor jacks and similar tools
  • Follow work instructions, blueprints, and assembly procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Ensure quality and accuracy throughout the assembly process
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in system or component assembly
  • Strong experience with heavy assembly work
  • Hands-on experience using torque wrenches
  • Familiarity with floor jacks and heavy equipment movement
  • Ability to read and follow assembly instructions or blueprints
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
