Job description

Standard Job Description The Aircraft Structural & Functional Inspector ensures all aircraft components meet rigorous workmanship, alignment, and design specifications from assembly through final checkout. Responsibilities include inspecting structural, electrical, plumbing, and hydraulic assemblies (including wingtowing, powerplanttowing, fuselage sections, and empennage), verifying jig loading, framing, skinning, riveting, spotwelding, and fastener integrity; reviewing sealing operations on new, stripped, or modified integral wing tanks for completeness, foreignmatter exclusion, and seal capability; overseeing final washing, priming, painting, and internal trimming to confirm compliance with engineering prints and process data; conducting functional system hookups, operational tests, and compartmentbycompartment shakedowns for alignment, clearance, torque, and tension; performing simulatedflight operational checkout to ensure adherence to latest design changes and customer requirements; and approving or rejecting items with proper documentation per Company policy and the QualityControl Manual. Current inspection certifications and the ability to read engineering drawings and inspection specifications are required.

Basic Qualifications Candidates are required to have the following minimum levels of experience and/or training: Four years of experience, that includes any combination of the following: 1. Military aircraft structures quality assurance experience. 2.

Aircraft assembly, structures, electrical installation or hydraulics installation experience. 3. One-year experience in application of aircraft finishes may offset one year of the four-year requirement.

4. Completion of the LMASC Chattahoochee Technical Institute Production Inspection Training Course of 300-400 hours may offset one year of the four-year requirement. 5.

Passing score of the ASQ Certified Inspector examination may offset two years of the four-year requirement. Must successfully pass the Lockheed Martin facilitated entrance Q&MS Inspection examination prior to employment. Must be able to demonstrate ability to enter and satisfy associated requirements within the Human Factors Assessment prior to employment.
