Job description

Position Overview

Sigan America is a Personal Care company seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Engineer (Assurance/Quality Control ) QA Supervisor. This role is responsible for overseeing the quality control operations of a team, ensuring products meet the required standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will have experience supervising a team of quality assurance staff, implementing quality control procedures, performing audits, and collaborating with other departments to continuously improve processes across our manufacturing operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Improve, develop, implement, and maintain quality systems.
  • Lead QA/QC teams across laboratory and production functions, ensuring accurate batch record review, deviation investigations, and timely product release.
  • Oversee raw material, in-process, and finished product testing, ensuring adherence to internal/external specifications.
  • Manage internal and external audits (FDA, UL, NSF, customer audits), including preparation, hosting, CAPA development, and timely closure.
  • Establish and monitor key quality metrics (OOS, complaints, recalls, right-first-time, first pass yield) to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Operations, R&D, Regulatory, and Supply Chain to proactively resolve quality challenges and support new product launches.
  • Maintain and update SOPs, training programs, and documentation systems to ensure compliance and workforce competency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as process validation, cleaning validation, risk assessments, and supplier quality management.
  • Lead product complaint investigations and ensure effective root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Train, mentor, and coach employees on quality standards, inspection techniques, and the use of QA tools and equipment.
  • Generate and present detailed reports on quality metrics, trends, and incidents to leadership.

  • Deep knowledge of FDA, Health Canada, ISO, and cGMP, ISO 22716 regulations.
  • Proven experience managing people, processes, audits, regulatory inspections, and customer compliance programs.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to train and develop high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency with ERP and quality management systems (e.g., ABAS, Visual, MasterControl, or equivalent).
  • Ability to balance compliance with operational efficiency while fostering a culture of quality and accountability.
