Job description

This vacancy is for a GS-0340-14, Program Manager located in the Surface Acquisition Programs Directorate (CG SEA-A) at Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington D.C. and the Surface Engineering Programs Directorate (CG-SEA-E) at Coast Guard Yard in Baltimore, MD.
This is a term appointment not to exceed 4 years.

Qualifications:

To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the federal or private sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.

Specialized experience may include the following:

  • Experience serving as the principal advisor on all project/program activities, overseeing the analysis of effectiveness, preparing periodic status reports marking cost, schedule, and performance; and providing input to periodic government program reviews and contract baseline reviews.
  • Experience developing, managing, and documenting short and long-range, acquisition planning activities that include multi-year work plans; planning and initiating a comprehensive evaluation system for the review and analysis of proposed costs, program development, and performance.
  • Experience providing administrative and technical oversight to government employees and the support contractor workforce.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.Education:This position does not have a positive education requirement.
