Job description
This recruitment will be used to create a pool of interested applicants to fill Special Project Assistant positions for the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at Oregon State University as the need arises.
The Undergraduate Student Support Services Worker performs a variety of work related to the support and enhancement of the quality of student life at the university.
Position Duties:
100% Duties to be determined by hiring unit/supervisor and may include book reviews and publication research, experimentation in a laboratory setting, laboratory set-up and maintenance, data collection and analysis, and other related tasks.
Other duties are performed specific to the funding and research topic. Duties may include, but are not limited to: This position could assist PhD students and/or the professor in conducting research in EECS related fields. In addition, the student assistant could receive mentorship on design, implementation and test of multiple Electrical Engineering and Computer Science research areas.

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by theOffice of International Services(OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
The student in this position will be expected to work between 1 to 24 hours per week depending on the need and assignment. The student assistant performs hands-on experience in a research lab environment, to complement regular curriculum and enhance knowledge for future job placement.
