MAINTENANCE ENGINEER / MANAGER

Food Manufacturing | Leadership, Troubleshooting & Technical Expertise

Full-Time, Permanent Position

Position Summary

An established food manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer/Manager with strong industrial maintenance knowledge and proven management and leadership experience.

The ideal candidate will have a solid hands-on understanding of mechanical, electrical, and production equipment, preferably within food or related manufacturing. This position is primarily responsible for leading and directing the maintenance department, diagnosing problems, determining the appropriate solutions, and ensuring technicians complete repairs efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

·     Direct and supervise the maintenance department's daily activities.

·     Lead, schedule, train, and manage maintenance technicians.

·     Diagnose equipment problems and determine the appropriate corrective action.

·     Direct maintenance personnel and outside contractors in completing repairs and projects.

·     Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

·     Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-related issues.

·     Minimize production downtime and improve equipment reliability.

·     Coordinate equipment installations, upgrades, and maintenance projects.

·     Maintain maintenance schedules, records, parts inventory, and equipment history.

·     Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Operations management.

·     Manage vendors, contractors, maintenance costs, and maintenance projects.

·     Ensure maintenance activities are performed safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

·     Strong hands-on industrial maintenance knowledge is required.

·     Previous maintenance management or supervisory experience required.

·     Food manufacturing or food-processing experience highly preferred.

·     Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, motors, conveyors, pumps, and production equipment.

·     Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.

·     Strong troubleshooting, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

·     Engineering degree is preferred; equivalent industrial maintenance and management experience will be considered.

·     Experience supervising multiple maintenance personnel and managing a larger maintenance operation is highly desirable.

·     Will have 6 reports and 30 + employees to direct

The ideal candidate is a knowledgeable, hands-on maintenance professional who understands how industrial equipment operates and can accurately diagnose problems, determine what needs to be done, and effectively direct maintenance personnel to complete the work.

This is primarily a maintenance leadership and management position. The successful candidate should be able to step in when necessary, but the primary responsibility is to lead, troubleshoot, plan, supervise, and manage the maintenance operation rather than personally perform routine repairs.
