Job description

Embedded Camera Systems Engineer (MIPI / ISP / SoC)

Build the low-level camera and imaging systems that power next-generation humanoid and robotic perception. You will work across MIPI CSI-2 cameras, ISPs, FPGA bridges, and embedded SoCs to bring up, calibrate, synchronize, and deploy multi-camera systems at scale. This role sits at the boundary between hardware, kernel drivers, and real-time perception pipelines.

Requirements
  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or equivalent industry experience
  • Strong experience with embedded Linux camera stacks (V4L2, Media Controller, libcamera)
  • Handsโ€‘on experience bringing up MIPI CSI-2 cameras on SoCs such as RK3588 or Jetson Orin
  • Understanding of MIPI CSI-2, Dโ€‘PHY / Cโ€‘PHY, lane configurations, and bandwidth constraints
  • Experience with camera sensor drivers, device tree configuration, and kernel debugging
  • Proficiency in Rust and C/C++ for embedded systems and kernelโ€‘adjacent development
  • Experience with camera calibration (intrinsics, extrinsics, stereo, multiโ€‘camera rigs)
  • Comfortable working with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and hardware bringโ€‘up tools
  • Strong Linux fundamentals (drivers, DMA, memory, interrupts, power management)
Responsibilities
  • Bring up and validate MIPI CSI-2 camera sensors on RK3588, Jetson Orin, and custom boards
  • Develop and debug camera sensor drivers, ISP pipelines, and device tree configurations
  • Integrate RGB, stereo, and depth cameras into real-time perception pipelines
  • Design and support multiโ€‘camera synchronization and hardware triggering strategies
  • Work with FPGAโ€‘based camera bridges or aggregators when needed
  • Implement and maintain camera calibration pipelines (mono, stereo, multiโ€‘view)
  • Optimize throughput, latency, and stability for highโ€‘resolution and multiโ€‘camera systems
  • Collaborate with perception, SLAM, and hardware teams to ensure endโ€‘toโ€‘end reliability
  • Support manufacturing test, validation, and field diagnostics for camera subsystems
Benefits
  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
  • Work on real robotic systems deployed in the physical world
  • Highโ€‘ownership role spanning hardware, kernel, and perception interfaces
  • Opportunity to define the camera architecture for nextโ€‘generation humanoid robots
