Manufacturing Engineer
Greensboro, NC

We are seeking a results-driven Manufacturing Engineer to support production optimization initiatives through cell redesign, process standardization, lean manufacturing implementation, and continuous improvement activities. The role will focus on improving operational efficiency, reducing waste, enhancing throughput, and ensuring standardized manufacturing practices across production lines.
 
Roles & Responsibilities
•  Mechanical design of Dispensers/Payment Unit.
• Design and drawing of Parts(Sheet Metal, Solids, Plastics, Machined etc.) and Assemblies 
• Model Configuration model buildup 
• Parts release in Windchill through ECN, Bill of material management and support to the prototyping activities 
• Functional verification of the designed units 
• Support the production with assembly procedures. 
• Product redesign for production optimization / cost reduction
Manufacturing Cell Design & Process Optimization
• Design, redesign, and optimize manufacturing cells and sub-cell production lines to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
• Analyze part handling, fixturing, workstation layouts, and cycle sequencing to reduce cycle time and eliminate non-value-added activities.
• Develop and implement process improvements to reduce material waste, improve equipment utilization, and increase throughput.
 
Manufacturing Documentation & Standard Work: Develop, maintain, and update manufacturing work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
 
Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement:
• Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives including: 
o 5S
o Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
o Standard Work
o Kaizen Events
o Waste Elimination
o Visual Management
o Root Cause Analysis
• Support Kaizen programs by developing improvement roadmaps and tracking action-item execution.
 
Generic Managerial Skills:
Production & Operational Excellence
• Monitor key manufacturing metrics including throughput, cycle time, scrap rates, downtime, OEE, and labor efficiency.
• Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
• D rive initiatives that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
• Support new product introductions and process changes within manufacturing operations.
