Standard Iron is seeking an Advanced Design Engineer to drive product development initiatives and contribute to innovative engineering solutions that meet customer needs and manufacturing objectives. This role is ideal for an engineer with 3 – 5 years of experience who is ready to take ownership of projects, apply strong technical expertise, and collaborate across functions to bring products from concept through production.

As an Advanced Development Engineer, your primary goal is to support successful product development and engineering execution by:
Design & Development
  • Develop product designs and engineering solutions from concept through production
  • Create and maintain engineering models, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Drive design improvements focused on performance, quality, cost, and manufacturability
  • Support prototype development, testing, validation, and production launch activities
Project Support & Collaboration
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and sales
  • Manage assigned engineering projects and technical deliverables
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues throughout the product development process
  • Participate in customer and supplier discussions to ensure successful project outcomes

Continuous Improvement & Innovation
  • Apply engineering best practices, standards, and design methodologies
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations
  • Lead or support continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives
  • Contribute to the development of innovative products and processes that improve performance and efficiency

Technical Expectations
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems, structural design, and material selection
  • Experience applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles
