Job description

Hiring a Shop Helper immediately within the Willow Grove, PA area! Apply today to be contacted for consideration.

Pay: $18/hr (entry level)

Shift: 6am-230pm (daytime)

Responsibilities

  • Handle all shipping and receiving activities for inbound and outbound materials, parts, and products.
  • Verify incoming shipments against documentation and ensure outgoing shipments are properly labeled, packaged, and documented.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, including regular cleaning tasks to support a tidy shop environment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job travelers to determine machining requirements.
  • Perform complete machine setups, including installing tooling, fixtures, workholding, and setting offsets.
  • Machine a variety of materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, alloys, and specialty materials.
  • Adjust feeds, speeds, and tooling to achieve required tolerances and desired surface finishes.
  • Conduct in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring tools to verify part quality.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make real-time adjustments to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with programmers, engineers, and shop leadership to improve part quality, throughput, and overall efficiency.
  • Operate related equipment such as drill presses and other machine tools as needed to complete jobs.
  • Follow all safety procedures and quality standards throughout shipping, receiving, and machining activities.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to independently perform full machine setups from print, including tooling, fixtures, workholding, and offsets.
  • Comfort working with tight tolerances and complex part geometries.
  • Thorough understanding of tooling, inserts, and cutting strategies for various materials.

Pay and Benefits
