Director - Solutions Engineering (Aladdin)

The Aladdin Solutions Engineering (SE) team leverages deep product, markets, and workflow expertise to design and present best-in-class solutions for prospective clients. SE plays a pivotal role in articulating how Aladdin's integrated capabilities address client operating model challenges across asset managers, insurers, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, and alternative investors. In addition to leading presentations, workflow translation, and technical diligence, the team produces specialized content, research, and competitive insights that elevate business development engagements and increase the probability of commercial success.
We are seeking a Director to join the Aladdin Solutions Engineering organization. This role combines technical expertise, financial acumen, and commercial partnership, with ownership of complex prospect engagements and close collaboration with Business Development, Product, and Implementation teams. The ideal candidate brings deep investment and platform expertise, credibility with senior institutional stakeholders, and strong operating model fluency.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead large, senior-level prospect engagements from RFP through vendor selection.

  • Partner with Aladdin Business Development to drive sales strategy and win new mandates.

  • Deliver sophisticated, workflow-oriented demonstrations tailored to investment, risk, operations, and technology teams across client organizations.

  • Use a consultative selling approach to diagnose operating model challenges and align Aladdin's integrated front-to-back capabilities with client strategic objectives.

  • Incorporate market, regulatory and geopolitical insights into prospects

  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with senior client stakeholders (e.g., CIO, CTO, COO, Heads of Desks), positioning Aladdin as a strategic partner in transformation.

  • Understand prospect objectives and proactively map those objectives to Aladdin solutions, incorporating industry terminology, workflows, and pain points

  • Partner with Aladdin product development to contribute ideas, understand Aladdin's roadmap and latest functionality

Skills & Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in investment management, enterprise investment technology, or financial markets, ideally across OMS/EMS, portfolio management systems, risk systems, or private markets platforms.

  • Strong understanding of front-to-back investment workflows, risk processes, portfolio construction, trading, operations, and technology architectures.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and craft compelling narratives for executives and technical audiences alike.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with demonstrated ability to diagnose client challenges and architect high impact solutions.

  • Proven success partnering with sales teams on complex enterprise technology deals.

  • Self-starter comfortable operating in fast paced, multi-cultural environments; strong team management and leadership skills.

  • Organized, diligent, and committed to excellence in client engagement and internal execution

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$180,000.00 - USD$270,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
