Advanced Pump and Equipment, a UFT company, is the leading provider of water and wastewater equipment in the Northern Rockies and Northern Plains. We are dedicated to assisting each and every client in determining their water or wastewater management system needs. Our Products Include: Engineered Pumps, Controls & SCADA, Treatment & Process Equipment, and more.
 

Advanced Pump & Equipment is looking for an Applications Engineer (AE) to join the team! In this role the AE will work with outside sales personnel, field technicians, internal staff, and others to support owners, consulting engineers and contractors in the development and design of projects involving water and sewer collection/distribution, pumping, treatment, storage, and disposal.  

The position involves working closely with personnel within APE, partners, vendors, clients, regulators, etc. Must be able to work with a team through the entire timeline of a project, including the steps of quoting, ordering, construction planning, installation support, change orders, start-up services, troubleshooting, monitoring, reporting, etc.

What you'll do:
  • Collection of project information from sales staff, owners, engineers, municipalities, etc. 
  • Pump System Design Support, Configuration, Quotation, Fulfillment  
    • Hydraulic Modeling / System analysis 
    • Pump selection 
    • Controls configuration  
  • Treatment System Design Support, Configuration, Quotation, Fulfillment 
  • Technical Writing 
    • Communication with Engineers, Owners, and Contractors 
    • System specifications and design reports 
  • Cost estimating for project budgeting, etc.  
  • Equipment quotes for public and private projects 
  • Understanding and conforming to relevant regulations 
  • Project management 
Background/Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience for a manufacturer or supplier of pumping or other fluid handling/treatment systems or in civil/mechanical/electrical engineering, civil construction, water/wastewater system operations
  • Familiarity with water/wastewater treatment processes and equipment, electrical controls, pumps, estimating, and/or sales is a nice to have
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or construction-related field desired, but not required if replaced by sufficient experience.  
  • Must be agile and proficient with general business software (e.g. NetSuite/Dynamics/Epicor ERP, Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Monday.com WM/CRM, Adobe Acrobat).
  • Experience in AutoCAD or SolidWorks is nice, but not required.
  • Travel up to 5%
