Controls Automation Engineer
Braselton, GA

This position will play a key role in the development, programming, troubleshooting, and support of automated shot peening systems and industrial controls.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot electrical control systems for shot peening machinery
  • Program, modify, and maintain Fanuc CNC and PMC control systems
  • Develop and troubleshoot PLC and HMI programs
  • Robotic cell integration, robot programming, end-of-arm tooling integration, safety circuits, and coordination between robots, PLCs, HMIs, and CNC systems.
  • Responsible for electrical panel layout, wiring, and system integration
  • Perform machine startup, testing, and commissioning
  • Support machine installations and service work at customer facilities
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and controls-related issues both in-house and in the field
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineering, assembly, and service teams to complete projects
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics and documentation
  • Train customers on machine operation and controls systems when required
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience as a Controls Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Automation Engineer, or similar role
  • Fanuc CNC and PMC programming experience required
  • Allen-Bradley PLC experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and automation controls
  • Experience integrating industrial robots (Fanuc, ABB, Yaskawa, KUKA, Universal Robots, etc.) into automated machinery preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
  • Experience with machine troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Familiarity with servo systems, motors, sensors, and industrial networking
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% for installations and service support
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Must possess a valid U.S. Passport or be able to obtain one
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check
