The incumbent will be responsible for all types of equipment including but not limited to Haul Trucks, Wheel Loaders, Skid Steers, Dozers, Motor Graders, and pickups.**RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:****1. Maintenance*** Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to mobile/heavy equipment including gasoline and diesel engines.* Possess basic trouble shooting skills related to diesel and gasoline engine systems.* Repair and replace bearings, brakes, bushings, springs, axles, alternators, wiring harnesses, replacing gaskets, fittings and seals, hydraulics, etc.* Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments to troubleshoot, diagnose and perform mechanical repairs on mobile equipment.* Execute work orders and compile maintenance records as required in accordance with all Company procedures and regulatory standards.* Ensure completion weekly HME schedule and order and receive all necessary parts.* Identify any needed parts and order to respective work order* Complete brake rebuilds and repairs.* Mig weld, arc weld.* Possess the ability to perform cutting with oxy/acetylene torch.* Complete industrial engine and other major component overhauls.* Ability to effectively use software to diagnose and repair HME.* Ensure completion weekly HME schedule and order and receive all necessary parts.* Complete PM work orders on all mobile equipment within scope of the work order.* Document history on work orders in SAP with quality comments as well.* Input quality notifications into SAP. (5+ per week)* Populate preventative work orders based on equipment hours.**2. Safety*** Physically inspect all mobile equipment and related equipment at least once per shift to detect mechanical problems and to ensure employee safety. Record results of inspection.* Perform all assigned work adhering to company and governmental safety rules and regulations.* Attend scheduled safety meetings.* Enforce all applicable safety policies.* Maintain a safe and clean work environment.* Promote safety among co-workers.* Participate in Behavior Based Safety program.**3. Safe Quality Food (SQF)*** Ensure a SQF workplace and follow regulatory compliance with Federal FDA – Food Modernization Safety Act (CFR Code of Federal Regulations Title 21, Part 507).* Support Environmental Health and Safety, as well as SQF initiatives and awareness programs.* Be a leader and promoter of employee safety and SQF culture.* Following completion of SQF training, demonstrate understanding of expected safety, SQF performance and Food Safety Culture.* Complete periodic SQF training(s).* Each site location will ensure training is conducted for new employees and continued for existing employees.* Employees will actively participate in audits for regulatory, safety, SQF and environmental compliance at the site.**4. Perform other duties as assigned.****ATTRIBUTES:*** Diesel mechanic background with in-depth troubleshooting skills.* Experience in welding, diesel engine repair, electrical work, and hydraulics.* Effectively communicate and interact with supervisors and peers with the ability to multi-task and stay calm under pressure.* Must understand the mechanics of the mobile equipment.* Must be able to handle multiple tasks with a strong sense of urgency to meet the customer needs.* Strong compliance and safety orientation.* Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently.* Must possess basic reading and math skills.* Must have the ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as work orders, blueprints, mechanical drawings, safety rules, standard operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.* Must have good written and verbal communicate skills.* Strong record of attendance reliability.* Must be capable of working any shift, overtime, be on-call, or work seven days a week, if needed.* Ability to take initiative and work with co-workers to accomplish defined goals in a fast-paced environment.**PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:*** Must be physically able to perform work assigned.* Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations.* Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.* Will be working at times in covered environment but mainly in a lime/mineral environment.* The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Mineral Particles.* The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing, and sitting.* Ability to consistently lift over 75 pounds as needed.**REQUIRED EDUCATION:*** High School Diploma or GED equivalent.**PREFFERED EDUCATION:*** Technical training or AA degree in technical related field is desired.**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:*** Previous maintenance experience is preferred.
