We're looking for a mechanically inclined Engine Rebuild Technician to diagnose, disassemble, inspect, clean, refurbish, and rebuild failed jet-powered heating systems, restoring them to like-new operating condition.

What You'll DoEngine Disassembly & Inspection
  • Receive failed engines and heating units returned from the field
  • Completely disassemble engines and related components
  • Inspect all mechanical components for wear, damage, and failure
  • Determine which parts can be salvaged, repaired, or replaced
  • Document failure findings and communicate unusual issues to Engineering

Cleaning & Component Restoration
  • Thoroughly clean engine components using approved cleaning equipment and procedures
  • Remove carbon buildup, contaminants, and debris from reusable components
  • Prepare salvaged components for inspection and reassembly
  • Ensure all reusable parts meet quality standards before installation

Engine Rebuild
  • Rebuild failed jet-powered heating units using salvaged and new replacement components
  • Replace bearings, seals, hardware, electrical components, fuel system parts, and other wear items
  • Assemble engines following detailed work instructions and engineering specifications
  • Maintain strict quality standards throughout every rebuild
  • Verify proper tolerances, torque specifications, and assembly procedures

Testing & Diagnostics
  • Perform operational testing before and after engine rebuilds
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical failures
  • Verify engine performance following rebuild
  • Troubleshoot and correct issues discovered during testing
  • Ensure every rebuilt unit meets REIC Rentals' quality and safety standards before returning to service

Documentation
  • Complete teardown reports and failure analysis documentation
  • Record replacement parts used during rebuilds
  • Maintain accurate repair records within company systems
  • Document inspection findings and testing results

Inventory & Shop Support
  • Maintain organized inventory of replacement engine components
  • Identify components requiring replenishment
  • Assist with inventory counts and organization
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Continuous Improvement
  • Recommend improvements to rebuild procedures and repair processes
  • Assist Engineering by identifying recurring failure trends
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Support development of repair standards and work instructions

What We're Looking ForEducation & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical degree or certification in Aviation Maintenance, Powerplant Technology, Diesel Technology, Automotive Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred
  • Professional experience rebuilding aircraft, turbine, diesel, industrial, automotive, or racing engines strongly preferred
  • Technical school engine rebuilding experience will also be considered

Technical Skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude

Physical Requirements

This position requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, using hand tools, and working around machinery in a manufacturing environment. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
