Job description

The Small Engine Mechanic plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing various types of small engines, primarily servicing lawn mowers, chainsaws, ATVs, and generators. This position requires a strong ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs using manual tools, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. The mechanic may work independently or collaborate within a team environment, with occasional travel required to service different locations. Development opportunities include on-the-job training, cross-training across mechanical disciplines, and prospects for career advancement.


The job will take place primarily in the Shop.

Schedule is Mon-Fri 7am-3:30Pm with a 30 minute lunch break.


Responsibilities

  • Perform engine repairs and diagnostics on small engines
  • Conduct maintenance and troubleshooting to identify issues
  • Replace worn or faulty parts to restore equipment functionality
  • Carry out safety checks to ensure compliant and safe operation
  • Utilize manual tools effectively for all repair and maintenance tasks
  • Work independently and as part of a team to meet service goals
  • Travel occasionally to service jobs at different locations

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in small engine repair
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in small engine repair, diagnostic testing, and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Skilled in the safe operation of manual tools
  • Strong time management and safety compliance skills
  • Proficiency in chainsaw diagnostic testing and repair
