Job description

Helinet Aviation Services is a diversified helicopter service provider located in Van Nuys, California. We provide services for a wide range of markets, including VIP charter, emergency medical services including patient and organ transport, electronic news gathering, motion picture, television, and commercial production.


GENERAL DUTIES:


  • Directly communicate and coordinate professionally with the contracted television stations personnel at the station and in the aircraft to rapidly deploy and respond to all electronic news gathering assignments.
  • Conduct simultaneous microwave downlink and camera operations to both record and produce live news content from the aerial platform.
  • Maintain a complete and thorough understanding of all electronic news gathering equipment installed aboard the aircraft in which you are assigned.
  • Assist with general ENG equipment repair needs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized aircraft work station and office space while assisting the pilots with keeping the entire aircraft clean and ready.
  • Assist the Chief Pilot, DO, others by completing additional assigned tasks or duties pertaining to the all-around operational needs of the Company.
  • Contribute to the overall safety of the mission by being an active participant in maintaining cockpit resource management skill sets.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Adept at problem solving, planning, and multitasking
  • Familiarity with the greater Los Angeles area and Freeway System
  • Outstanding sense of direction, map reading, and navigational skill sets
  • Exceptional verbal and communications skills Ability to adapt to the high-pressure news gathering environment
  • Takes ownership and contributes to the team
  • Working knowledge and experience with broadcast cameras and equipment
  • Working knowledge and experience with remote broadcast microwave equipment
  • Prior news gathering and/or production experience preferred
  • Remote gyro stabilized Camera head experience preferred
  • Radio scanner experience preferred
  • High School Diploma
