Job Description Summary

The Senior Risk Manager will be responsible for developing a Risk Management Plan and driving identification, evaluation, treatment and overall governance of project risks. This is a critical role requiring strong leadership, highly energetic person, strong hands-on analytical capability with clear thinking and willingness to challenge the status quo.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Leads Risk Management activities within Advanced Nuclear for Small Modular Reactors for large-scale EPC Projects.
  • Lead and manage Risk & Opportunity identification, discussion & mitigation actions (throughout the entire Project life cycle) which shall include but not limited to risk mitigation actions follow-up and support.
  • Requires strong hands-on analytical capability, the successful candidate will be comfortable moving between detailed data analysis, operational reviews, and senior leadership communication.
  • Ability to demonstrate good leadership, influencing and management skills including the ability to work independently and communicate effectively within and across all levels of the organization.
  • Enable Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with Project Management, PMO, functional teams, and other stakeholders to ensure Risk Management priorities are understood, aligned, and delivered.
  • Drives risk related daily management routines, operational risk reviews, and performance tracking, and support leaders in resolving bottlenecks through structured problem solving.
  • Services as expert and primary point of contact for Risk Management within the Project team.
  • Benchmark internal & external risk management processes best practices.
  • Refine and improve the processes, KPIs, and communication rhythms.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science from an accredited university or college
  • Proficient in using industry standard tools for Risk analysis involving monte carlo simulations – such as SAFRAN or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience (nuclear industry engineering/operations experience, project management, risk management, construction management, contracts management or equivalent).
  • At least 3 years of risk management or project management experience
  • Solid understanding of Contract terms and law principles, relevant technical, financial, cost & project risk management principles.
  • Ability to handle many complex issues/projects concurrently
  • Willingness and ability to travel globally 10% of the time

  • Project/Construction management experience in power industry.
  • Structured, hands-on problem solver with focus on root cause and sustainable outcomes
  • Technical knowledge of commercial nuclear reactors & associated systems.
  • Microsoft suite proficiency.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leaderships skills
Compensation - Canada

For candidates applying to a Canadian-based position, the pay range for this position is between $137,600 and $187,599 CAD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education and skill set.

Bonus Eligibility

5% discretionary annual bonus

Compensation - United States

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $135,800.00 and $226,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus Eligibility - United States

Discretionary annual bonus.
