Job Description:
  • Position Summary

    The Project Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing the project schedule for a major Flood Risk Control project in San Juan, Puerto Rico, delivered for the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). The project involves deepening and widening an existing river channel and constructing two riverbank retaining systems with tangent drilled shafts up to approximately 100 feet deep.

    This role ensures that all scheduling activities comply with contract requirements, USACE standards, and Ferrovial procedures. The Project Scheduler will work closely with the Project Controls Manager and project teams to monitor progress, identify risks, and support timely project delivery through accurate planning and reporting.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and maintain the project schedule using Primavera P6 or equivalent, in compliance with USACE specifications.
  • Support the establishment of the baseline schedule, including logic, durations, and resource loading.
  • Track and update progress based on field input, ensuring accurate representation of project status.
  • Perform schedule analysis, including critical path identification, float analysis, and trend evaluation.
  • Identify potential delays and schedule risks, recommending mitigation and recovery actions.
  • Prepare schedule updates, reports, and narratives for internal teams and USACE.
  • Support delay analysis, time impact analysis (TIA), and extension of time (EOT) requests as required.
  • Coordinate closely with Construction, Engineering, and Project Controls teams to integrate field data into the schedule.
  • Assist in the development of look-ahead schedules and short-term planning tools.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with project leadership and client representatives.
  • Ensure schedules are aligned with contract requirements, project milestones, and reporting standards
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 4-8 years of experience in project scheduling for infrastructure or heavy civil construction projects.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software
    • Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling
    • Progress tracking and schedule reporting
  • Experience working on USACE or federally funded projects (preferred).
  • Familiarity with heavy civil works such
  • Understanding of contract schedule requirements and specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
  • High level of English (written and spoken) required.
