Sales Engineer (Outside / Field Sales) - Renewables & BESS

Northern California


Overview

We're a long-standing and rapidly-growing electrical solutions provider who are expanding our Renewables & Energy Storage (BESS) division across Northern California and hiring a Sales Engineer to lead from the front.


This role is focused on battery energy storage systems, energy resilience, and distributed power solutions. You will work directly with contractors, developers, EPCs, and end users to design and deliver complex energy solutions tied to grid stability, backup power, and renewable integration.


This is not a commodity sales seat. It is a consultative, solutions-driven role at the intersection of electrification and infrastructure.


What You’ll Do

  • Drive new business across BESS, energy storage, and renewable power projects.
  • Build relationships with EPC firms, developers, electrical contractors, and industrial clients.
  • Identify opportunities tied to grid resiliency, backup power, and energy optimization.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and vendor partners on custom energy solutions.
  • Engage early with stakeholders including engineers, estimators, and project teams.
  • Own and execute territory strategy across Northern CA.


What You Bring

  • 3 - 10+ years in electrical, renewables, or energy storage sales.
