Job Summary:
Pico Propane, a Meritum Energy Holdings Company, in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking an experienced dispatcher to join the team! The Dispatcher's primary responsibility is to ensure all equipment, personnel, and infrastructure is scheduled for propane equipment installations and service appointments.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Schedule deliveries for customers and provide instructions to drivers and service technicians in a timely, efficient manner
  • Review routes, monitor and adjust routes as needed
  • Daily review of customer accounts due for delivery
  • Respond to customer inquiries, address concerns, and assess overall satisfaction
  • Ensures timely communication of delivery orders by maintaining open lines between management and drivers
  • Keep customers updated with delivery status
  • Create new delivery orders for skipped orders as needed
  • Review driver tickets to ensure all customer accounts are billed for gas delivery
  • Identify equipment and tank needs
  • Follow position specific processes, procedures, and safety protocol to include wearing appropriate PPE
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Perform other general duties as assigned

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one (1) year of dispatch experience in the propane and oil industry

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read a map and familiarity with the county and surrounding cities
  • Prior dispatch experience in the propane and oil industry preferred
  • Must be proficient in the current Microsoft Office Suite
Physical Requirements:
The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by the incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, using a phone, and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds as needed in order to safely assist with duties around the office and/or plant as needed
  • Must pass a pre-employment screening and background check
