Position Specific Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Front and Middle Office Principal Business Analyst with expertise in front office business operations and the Endur trading and risk management system. As a Front Office Sr. Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the trading desk by leveraging your knowledge of Endur to enhance trading strategies and risk management processes. You will work closely with traders, risk managers, and IT teams to ensure the effective use of Endur in daily trading activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in energy trading, excellent analytical skills, and a deep understanding of energy markets.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the trading desk by providing insights and analysis using the Endur system to optimize trading and risk management.
  • Collaborate with traders and risk managers to understand business requirements and translate them into system enhancements and configurations.
  • Model gas, oil, renewable, power and IRS trades in Endur.
  • Ensure trade valuations and risk is correct
  • Assist in the configuration and customization of Endur to meet the specific needs of the Front Office and Middle Office.
  • Monitor and analyze trading activities, positions, and market trends to provide actionable insights to the trading team.
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards in Endur to support decision-making processes.
  • Manage testing - including SIT, UAT and regression where appropriate
  • Provide training and support to end-users to ensure effective utilization of the Endur system.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in energy trading and risk management.
  • Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of Endur with other business systems and processes.
     

Preferred Requirements:

  • Hands on experience with Endur APM, deal modeling, trading desktops, curve configurations, PL Explain, simulation results and VaR
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a Front or Middle Office BA role within the energy trading industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Front Office business operations and the Endur trading and risk management system.
  • Excellent understanding of commodity markets, including power, gas, oil, environmental and IR Swaps.
  • Hands-on experience with Endur V19 or above ( preferred ).
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with traders and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic trading environment.
Job Overview

This position provides technical software project leadership including, but not limited to defining system architecture, guiding design of the system's software and writing code as part of the implementation team and mentors less experienced team members.  Employees in this role work with the product team to plan work and typically serve as Technical Lead of projects.  Individuals in this position provide technical advice to higher levels in the organization.

  • Codes in multiple languages in support of software products and the development of software products
  • Leads software system architecture projects
  • Mentors others in efficient software design
  • Leads project-level sized teams including assigning work, answering technical project questions, helping other software engineers overcome challenges and mentoring less experienced software engineers
  • Communicates with varying levels within and outside the organization including clearly reporting status in meetings and in other forums, describing systems to audiences of all technical abilities, communicating task assignments to team members, refining requirements and helping to facilitate project planning with the product team, assisting with software project demos and reporting results
  • Provides input on software and technology decisions across an entire project and potentially participates in higher level meetings concerning software and IT architecture
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
