Job description

Make a difference here.

UltraViolet Cyber is a leading platform-enabled unified security operations company providing a comprehensive suite of security operations solutions. Founded and operated by security practitioners with decades of experience, the UltraViolet Cyber security-as-code platform combines technology innovation and human expertise to make advanced real-time cybersecurity accessible for all organizations by eliminating risks of separate red and blue teams.

By creating continuously optimized identification, detection, and resilience from todayโ€™s dynamic threat landscape, UltraViolet Cyber provides both managed and custom-tailored unified security operations solutions to the Fortune 500, Federal Government, and Commercial clients. UltraViolet Cyber is headquartered in McLean, Virginia, with global offices across the U.S. and in India.

Our Federal Delivery team is seeking a technical Senior Security Solutions Architect to support the DHS OCIO Security Tools program. This is a hybrid role based in National Harbor, MD, with three days per week onsite. The Senior Solutions Architect provides technical direction across the program's security tool portfolio support spanning SIEM, endpoint/EDR, privileged access management, network detection, and vulnerability management, advising tool teams on configuration approach, integration strategy, and technology roadmap.

The Senior Solutions Architect is expected to engage substantively on tool architecture, data flows, and integration design; evaluate emerging technologies against program requirements; and identify and resolve gaps in proposed technical solutions. The ideal candidate brings broad, credible exposure across the security tool landscape, sound technical judgment, and the ability to communicate complex technical material clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including client and government counterparts. Serve as a senior advisor to Branch and Division level leadership on emerging issues, assessing the impact of and recommending action based on new or changing Federal guidance (Executive Orders, CISA directives, etc.).

What You'll Do:
  • Lead and facilitate solutioning technical cybersecurity challenges across the portfolio of security tools
  • Build and maintain technology roadmaps for the program's security tool portfolio
  • Advise tool teams on configuration approaches and integration strategy across the security stack, including SIEM, EDR, PAM, network detection, and vulnerability management platforms
  • Evaluate new and replacement tools for onboarding, including vulnerability management platforms such as Qualys, and assess technical fit against program requirements and the existing environment
  • Represent the program in meetings with senior government officials, presenting and defending technical approaches
  • Identify gaps, risks, and inconsistencies in proposed technical solutions prior to delivery
  • Work with tool team leads to shape technical approaches toward stronger client outcomes
  • Monitor the technical health of the tool portfolio and flag emerging integration or capability gaps
  • Provide technical analysis and recommendations to program leadership on tool-portfolio direction and investment decision.
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for cross-tool architecture and integration questions
What You Have:
  • Bachelor's degree plus 15 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree plus 12 years of relevant experience (equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree)
  • Broad, demonstrated experience across security tool categories โ€” Splunk, EDR/endpoint, vulnerability management, PAM, network detection, or similar
  • Experience with enterprise SIEM tools, specifically with large deployments of Splunk
  • Experience with vulnerability management platforms; experience with Qualys specifically preferred
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating, architecting, and integrating security tools within a complex technical environment
  • Experience evaluating and onboarding new security tools into an existing environment
  • Experience presenting technical material in client- and government-facing settings
  • Sound technical judgment and the ability to communicate complex technical material clearly to varied audiences
  • Even-keeled, professional, and customer-oriented under pressure
  • Effective communicator at all levels, written and verbal
What You've Done:
  • CISSP, CISM, or similar security certifications
  • Experience supporting federal agency security operations
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture implementation
  • Prior experience in a solutions architect, technical lead, or senior engineering capacity
Work Environment:
  • Hybrid work model with 3 days/week on-site presence near National Harbor, Maryland
  • US Citizenship required; no active security clearance required to start
What We Offer:
  • 401(k), including an employer match of 100% of the first 3% contributed and 50% of the next 2% contributed
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance (available on the 1st day of the month following your first day of employment)
  • Group Term Life, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability
  • Voluntary Life, Hospital Indemnity, Accident, and/or Critical Illness
  • Participation in the Discretionary Time Off (DTO) Program
  • 11 Paid Holidays Annually
