Overview

Johns Hopkins Intrastaff, the internal staffing agency for Johns Hopkins Health System and its partner hospitals, is seeking skilled and dependable Endoscopy Technicians for contract opportunities at Johns Hopkins Sibley Memorial Hospital.

This role offers the flexibility of contract employment while providing the opportunity to work alongside leading physicians and clinical staff in a state-of-the-art healthcare environment. As a member of the Endoscopy and Special Procedures Team, you will play a vital role in supporting high-quality patient care during a variety of endoscopic and specialty procedures.

Location: Johns Hopkins Sibley Memorial Hospital

Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM

On-Call Requirements:

  • Holiday on-call coverage required
  • Weekend on-call rotation required
  • Minimum of 7 on-call shifts per month

Pay Rate: $33.00/hour

Responsibilitiesย 
  • Prepare procedure rooms and organize equipment and supplies for scheduled endoscopic procedures.
  • Assist physicians during endoscopic and specialty procedures, anticipating equipment and patient care needs.
  • Support patient admission, preparation, positioning, and transport while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse and document as required.
  • Perform cleaning, high-level disinfection, and maintenance of endoscopes in accordance with infection control standards.
  • Clean, disinfect, sterilize, reassemble, and store endoscopic accessories and procedural equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and report malfunctions to leadership promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized procedural environment.
  • Adhere to hand hygiene, aseptic technique, safety protocols, and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, patients, and other healthcare team members.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, educational programs, and departmental projects.
  • Assist with room turnover to ensure efficient workflow and readiness for subsequent procedures.
Qualificationsย 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two years of Endoscopy Technician experience.
  • Experience assisting with a variety of endoscopic procedures, including ERCP, gastric sleeve, and other advanced GI procedures.
  • Knowledge of endoscopic equipment reprocessing, infection prevention standards, and procedural support.
  • Completion of Endoscopy Technician training coursework or at least one year of healthcare experience (e.g., Health Care Assistant or Clinical Associate) and procedural support experience may be considered.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required.
