The Greater Manchester Region has approximately 2,500 employees. It includes Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 249-bed community hospital, Rockville General, a campus of Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 102-bed facility, a large multispecialty provider group and visiting nurse services. The Greater Manchester Region serves a region of 300,000 people in 19 towns.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, prepares procedure rooms, manages equipment, and assists the Physician during endoscopic procedures. Assists with patient care pre and post procedure as well as assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment. This unit provides 24-hour coverage. Clinical Cross-campus (MMH and RGH) on-call is required Monday through Friday after 11:00 p.m (2300) weekends and holidays. Reports to the MMH Nurse Manager.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Certification in Sterile Processing or Flexible Endoscopy Reprocessing through a nationally accredited central service organization such as, CBSPD oe IAHCSMM is required within two years of hire. (After January 2016).
  • Annually obtain the mandatory number of Continuing Education units (CEUs).
COMPETENCIES:
  • Basic computer skills in the use of Microsoft Windows-based WORD, EXCEL and OUTLOOK software programs.
  • Must be able to read and communicate effectively using the English language.
  • Employee must have access to reliable transportation to travel between multiple work sites; and travel is required in order to perform essential duties.
