Position Details

Location: Boston, MA
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite
Department: Endocrinology
Pay Rate: Up to $47/hour
Contract: 2-month contract with potential for direct hire
Schedule: Monday–Thursday | 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Dress Code: Business casual preferred; scrubs are acceptable

Position Overview

The Endocrinology Registered Nurse will provide clinical support within a specialty outpatient setting, working closely with providers and patients to deliver safe, timely, and patient-centered care.

The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical judgment, telephone triage, troubleshooting, and patient communication skills, along with confidence administering subcutaneous injections on a routine basis. Experience in endocrinology, diabetes care, Epic, or ambulatory triage is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing support to patients within an outpatient endocrinology practice.

  • Administer subcutaneous injections safely and accurately as part of daily clinical responsibilities.

  • Perform telephone triage, assess patient concerns, and determine appropriate next steps.

  • Troubleshoot patient questions and clinical concerns within established protocols.

  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding symptoms, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up needs.

  • Exercise sound clinical judgment and escalate concerns appropriately to providers.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and other members of the care team.

  • Work independently while maintaining strong communication with the broader clinical team.

  • Document patient interactions and clinical information accurately in the medical record.

  • Follow established clinical protocols, safety standards, and organizational policies.

  • Support overall outpatient clinical operations as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

  • Current BLS certification

  • Demonstrated proficiency administering subcutaneous injections

  • Strong telephone triage and clinical troubleshooting skills

  • Excellent critical-thinking and clinical assessment abilities

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • BSN

  • Epic experience

  • Previous telephone triage experience

  • Endocrinology experience

  • Diabetes care/management experience

  • Ambulatory or outpatient nursing experience

  • Experience providing patient education in a specialty-care setting
