Do you have a passion for helping others? Pennswood Village is hiring Part-Time Personal Care Assistants - and no experience is necessary!
The Direct Care / Personal Care Assistantwill function under the direction of the nurse-in-charge in the delivery of personal patient care to the residents in Personal Care.
  • Plan and complete patient care assignments, assist patients with all activities of daily living
  • Maintain and ensure the personal rights of all patients through knowledge of and advocacy of the Patient Bill of Rights
  • Establish safe and accurate working habits in the delivery of individual patient care
  • Participate in ongoing education to extend knowledge and improve skills as required by DHS
  • Participate in the individual patient plan of care as part of the interdisciplinary team
  • Participate in the orientation of new staff members

Position Requirements
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of DHS-approved medication administration training (this is provided by Pennswood Village and must be completed within the first 30 days of employment).
Completion of the DHS 6-hour Direct Care training course (must be completed within the first week of employment)
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
No experience is required, we will train you.
Must be able to read, write, and follow oral instructions.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to bend, stretch, climb, kneel, reach, stoop and lift 20 pounds; transferring patients. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
