We are hiring AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE (ASL) INTERPRETERS!


We are looking for experienced ASL interpreters who want to join an international company and be a great help to the community.

Job Overview:

The Interpreter assists deaf or hard of hearing individuals by facilitating communication in a variety of scenarios related to their day-to-day activities. This role involves providing intercultural mediation to help ensure that communication is clear and effective, enabling the delivery of culturally sensitive support. A commitment to providing an exceptional customer experience, maintaining patient privacy and safety, and fostering a spirit of teamwork is essential for this position.

Job type: on the site (in-person)


Location: Ochoco Dam in Crook County, OR

Dates: June 25-27, 2024 (3 days)

Time: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Special requirements: Proficient with STEM / Reclamation terminology. Two Reclamation employees will be using the interpreter service. 

Specialized vocabulary:
  • Engineering (chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, materials, and mechanical engineering).
  • Physical Sciences (chemistry, biology, and environmental sciences).

Dams and Powerplants:
Concrete and earth dams along with their appurtenant structures or components (such as outlet works, intake structures, conduits, gatehouses, and stilling basins), spillways (gates, chutes, and stilling basins), and seepage control drain systems.
Hydropower plants (turbines, generators, transformers, and power transmissions).
Environmental Compliance and Management (invasive species, environmental compliance audits for facilities, National Environmental Policy Act, metal and concrete corrosion, hazardous materials, protective coatings, endangered species, and the Resource, Conservation, and Recovery Act).



Your background and experience:


  • Work Experience: 1 + years.
  • Certifications are not compulsory, but desirable (Ed: K-12, NIC, CI, EIC).
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and ASL interpreting, Professional level interpreting.
