Job description

TITLE: Crown Instruction Internship
DEPARTMENT: Rebecca Crown Library
OPEN TO: Dominican University Graduate Students
STATUS: Part-time position, 16 hours per week, flexible work schedule
DATES OF EMPLOYMENT: July 1st, 2026 - June 30th, 2027
HOURLY RATE: $15.25/hour with an attached scholarship from the Dominican School of Information Studies (2 courses).

To support the University's mission of preparing students to pursue truth, to give compassionate service, and to participate in the creation of a more just and humane world.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Join the Rebecca Crown Library Instruction Team, where there are ample opportunities to gain hands-on library instruction, services, systems, and operations skills. At the end of the internship, you will have gained the following experience:
  • Work closely with the Community Learning & Outreach Librarian and Instruction Team:
    • Plan and deliver classroom instruction
    • Create online learning objects - guides, handouts, videos, social media
    • Develop skills with Learning Management Systems (Canvas) and Library Management Systems (LibApps)
  • Collaborate with SOIS faculty throughout the internship
  • Expand your professional network
  • Participate in Professional Development opportunities
  • Get practical academic library experience

Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled in Dominican SOIS program
  • Preference will go to those who have completed LIS 702 Facilitating User Learning & Information Needs.
  • Must be eligible for US employment
