With a team of over 2,700 dedicated employees, we provide innovative, customized fire suppression, fire sprinkler, and fire alarm solutions that protect lives and properties every day.

Our goal is to deliver superior experience to those who trust us to safeguard what matters most. We are passionate about continuous growth, innovation, and maintaining a culture that thrives on success and commitment to safety. Our mission? To be the best fire protection company the industry has ever seen.

At Encore, we take protecting people and property personally and we are looking for a Security System Technician who feels the same. Based out of our Nashville, TN office, you will be the person customers count on to install, service, program, and troubleshoot access control and CCTV security systems that keep their buildings secure and their teams safe. You will also lead projects involving alarm and low-voltage security systems, network secured devices and infrastructure, and vehicle gates. If you take pride in clean workmanship, clear communication, and finishing what you start, you will fit right in with a team that values doing the job right and taking care of each other.

In this role, you will take ownership of your assigned service and installation work, partnering with customers and internal teams to ensure systems are installed correctly, operating reliably, and kept code compliant.  In this role, you will:

  • Install, service, program, test, inspect, and troubleshoot basic and complex security camera and alarm systems with limited or no supervision including IP cameras, DVR/NVR systems, card readers, door strikes, mag locks, intercoms, and intrusion systems.
  • Run and terminate low-voltage cabling (Cat5/6, fiber, coax).
  • Identify code compliance and non-conformance issues and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Make accurate and confident recommendations for system installation improvements.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and carry out assigned customer system issues through completion for hardware, software and communication issues.
  • Read blueprints and security schematics.
  • Coordinate daily work activities with contractors, customers, project managers, building maintenance personnel, and Encore office staff.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and attention to detail in all field activities.
  • Supervise junior technicians and subcontractors.
  • Respond to emergency service calls, which may require overtime hours, nights, weekends, or short-notice availability.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to customer sites.

  • Working knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, fire alarm system theory, OSHA requirements, and industry standards related to security and fire alarm system installation.

  • Experience installing and servicing systems from manufacturers such as Gamewell-FCI, Siemens, Notifier, Edwards, Simplex, Honeywell, Fire-Lite, or similar platforms.

  • Working knowledge of CCTV platforms, access control systems, TCP/IP networking, and low-voltage electrical systems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in the field.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • You have hands-on experience installing, servicing, and troubleshooting security and fire alarm systems.
  • Experience installing and servicing systems from manufacturers such as Doorking, Hanwha, Avigilon, Paxton, Vista, Keri, HikVision, or Liftmaster.
  • Low-voltage license, or manufacturer certification.

At Encore, we’re all about creating a culture where success is celebrated. We recognize that our work makes people’s lives safer, and we reward those who contribute to our growth. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Competitive Pay: Hourly rate based on experience with a performance-based bonus opportunity.
  • Tuition Assistance: Paid tuition for fire protection-related schooling needed to obtain licensing.
  • Purpose-Driven Work Environment: We believe in working smarter, not harder. You’ll be part of a culture that values results, and we empower our team to focus on impactful work.
  • Swag: High-quality company swag and attire (t-shirts, hoodies, jackets) – at least twice a year.
  • People-Focused Culture: We know our greatest strength is our people. That’s why we’ve built a culture that encourages experimentation, learning, and improving together. You’ll have the space to share your ideas and help shape a company that is constantly growing.
