Title: Preschool Lead Teacher Hours: 10 - 25 hours/week (pending role) FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Director Supervises: Teacher Assistant Summary: Crozet Avenue Christian Preschool is hiring a Preschool Lead Teacher starting in August 2025. Our CACP Lead Teachers pride themselves in their ability to collaborate with fellow Teachers, co-plan daily instruction & curriculum, build relationships with students & families, and drive student’s educational growth & journey. At Crozet Avenue, we are defined by our small class sizes, by our remarkable teachers with early childhood education expertise, and by the loving relationships we build with our students, our preschool families, and the local Crozet community.
(I) PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION ● This position reports to the Director – core responsibilities encompass administering programming and curriculum to students in line with the parent handbook while ensuring familiarity with all school policies and procedures to maintain student safety. ● Manage a classroom of students in collaboration with the Assistant Teacher and supporting staff. Must demonstrate strong proficiency in responsive classroom strategies, empathy toward students & families, and an energy to cultivate student growth. ● Oversee administrative tasks and communication via Brightwheel. (ie. attendance, parent communication, documentation, compliance or related items). ● Attend teacher workdays, Back-to-School Night, Parent/Teacher conferences, staff professional development days, monthly staff meetings and other special events as scheduled. ● Attend workshops and learning sessions, a minimum of 16-24 hours per school year. (II) PROGRAM INSTRUCTION ● Plan developmentally appropriate lessons and activities following CACP curriculum and connected resources as a guide. Set up a daily schedule to be used as a guideline for lessons and activities for optimal engagement by all students. ● Manage provided supplies and materials to maximize the delivery of programming and curriculum. ● Maintain records regarding student achievement and concerns. Complete Preschool Progress Report for each student and conduct Parent/Teacher Conferences to support ongoing feedback and growth . (III) PROGRAM OPERATIONS ● Work hours are 8:30am to 1:30pm. Be prepared to greet the students when they arrive starting at 9:00am. *Times may change if working extra-curricular events. ● Perform a daily health inspection of each child as they arrive – be familiar with our health policy as outlined in the parent handbook. ● Maintain the safety of all students and staff while at school. Take actions necessary to achieve this goal.

Qualifications: ● Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field. ● Three to five years experience in early childhood education or related field. ● Two years experience leading classrooms to execute curriculum. ● Complete Mandated Reporter training yearly either by attending in person class provided by CACP or taking the online course through VDSS.
