Job description

TerraFirma has been the Pacific Northwest's trusted name in foundation repair, basement waterproofing, crawl space encapsulation, and concrete repair since 2005. Thousands of homes protected! We don't just fix homes — we protect families. Join a team built on integrity, craftsmanship, and community.

Do you thrive at the intersection of hands-on work and building real relationships with customers?

At TerraFirma, our Service Technicians are trusted advisors — combining technical know-how with consultative sales skills to deliver solutions that protect our customers' homes for a lifetime. If you connect easily with people, take pride in quality work, and want to earn great pay doing both — this role is built for you.

POSITION SUMMARY

You'll travel to pre-scheduled customer appointments, inspect existing systems, diagnose warranty and non-warranty issues, perform hands-on installations, and recommend additional solutions. You’re the face of TerraFirma in the field — part technician, part trusted advisor.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Service & Installations

  • Perform annual customer maintenance visits, examining work previously completed
  • Diagnose and resolve warranty and non-warranty issues on existing installations
  • Install additional products purchased by the customer as needed
  • Ensure adherence to job specifications, quality standards, and safety guidelines on every visit
  • Report any product or installation issues promptly to the Service Manager
  • Work in small or tight enclosed spaces such as crawlspaces and basements safely
  • Drive the company vehicle to and from customer appointments daily

Sales & Customer Relations

  • Build long-term relationships with customers and professionally represent TerraFirma on every visit
  • Recommend additional products and services to enhance or improve original installations or remedy new issues
  • Maintain ongoing communication with customers until all concerns are fully resolved
  • Obtain customer approval before proceeding with any additional work or changes
  • Consistently deliver a customer experience that reflects the TerraFirma standard

Administration & Training

  • Complete all required paperwork and follow-up communications promptly after each appointment
  • Communicate job status — completions and complications — to the Service Manager
  • Attend weekly service meetings and engage in ride-alongs with the Sales Manager and peers
  • Consistently practice and adhere to the TerraFirma appointment process

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years of experience in construction, home improvement, sales, or customer service preferred
  • Hands-on construction or mechanical experience a strong plus
  • Comfortable working in small or tight enclosed spaces such as crawlspaces and basements
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs frequently and up to 100lbs occasionally
  • Strong communication skills — confident and professional in person and over the phone
  • Able to read and interpret written materials and digital devices (computers, tablets)
  • Fluent in English (spoken, written); Spanish is a plus
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Must meet company vehicle insurance requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Lift and carry materials up to 50lbs regularly; up to 100lbs occasionally
  • Stand, walk, and perform strenuous labor for extended periods
  • Work in small or tight enclosed spaces such as crawlspaces and basements
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Regular out-of-town travel, including overnight stays, is an essential function of this position. Travel time is compensated in accordance with applicable state law.

COMPENSATION

Competitive pay: $25/hr + uncapped commission ($50k-$80k/yr average)

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Company vehicle provided
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance plans
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan with company match
  • Short and Long-Term Disability coverage
  • Life Insurance and AD&D Insurance
  • 7 Paid Holidays + PTO
  • Wellness Programs
  • A family-oriented culture where you’re treated like one of our own

OUR VALUES: F.I.R.M.

We don’t just talk about our values — we live them:

  • Family — We treat our team like family and support each other on and off the job site
  • Integrity — We do the right thing, even when no one is watching
  • Resilience — We push through challenges and come out stronger
  • Mastery — We take pride in our craft and always strive to be better
