As of Jun 15, 2026, the average hourly pay for emt clinic in the United States is $20.40, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $17.07 and $22.60 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What percent of EMTs quit?

The turnover rate for EMTs varies by region and employer but is generally estimated between 20% and 30% annually. Factors influencing quitting include job stress, shift hours, and the need for ongoing training and certification. High turnover is common in emergency medical services due to the demanding nature of the work.

Can you work in a clinic as an EMT?

Yes, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) can work in clinics, often providing emergency and basic medical care in outpatient or urgent care settings. Certification and training in emergency response, along with relevant medical skills, are typically required for clinic-based EMT roles.

What is the highest paid EMT job?

The highest paid EMT jobs are typically those with advanced certifications such as Critical Care Paramedic or Flight Paramedic, often working in air ambulance services or specialized medical transport. These roles usually require additional training, experience, and sometimes a paramedic license, and they tend to offer higher salaries compared to standard EMT positions.

How does working as an EMT in a clinic setting differ from working in an ambulance or emergency response environment?

As an EMT in a clinic, your day-to-day responsibilities typically focus on providing immediate care to walk-in patients, assisting with patient assessments, performing basic medical procedures, and supporting clinical staff. Unlike ambulance EMTs, clinic EMTs generally work in a more stable environment with set shifts and less unpredictable emergency calls. Collaboration with nurses, physicians, and administrative staff is common, and the pace, while still brisk, often allows for more consistent routines. This setting can also provide opportunities to expand your clinical skills and pursue further certifications.

What is the difference between Emt Clinic vs Paramedic?

AspectEmt ClinicParamedic
CertificationsEMT certification (Emergency Medical Technician)Advanced EMT or Paramedic certification
Work EnvironmentAmbulance services, clinics, event medical supportAmbulance, emergency scenes, hospitals
Job ResponsibilitiesBasic life support, patient transport, first aidAdvanced life support, medication administration, invasive procedures

EMT Clinic staff typically hold EMT certifications and focus on providing basic emergency care and patient transport. Paramedics have advanced training, allowing them to perform more complex procedures. While both roles work in emergency medical services, paramedics operate in more advanced settings and handle more critical cases.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an EMT in a clinical setting, and why are they important?

To thrive as an EMT in a clinical setting, you need comprehensive knowledge of emergency medical procedures, patient assessment skills, and a valid EMT certification. Familiarity with medical equipment, electronic patient care reporting systems, and protocols like CPR and AED use is essential. Strong communication, quick decision-making, and the ability to stay calm under pressure are critical soft skills for this role. These skills and qualities are vital for providing timely, effective care and ensuring patient safety in high-stress environments.

What are EMT clinics?

EMT clinics are medical facilities or designated areas where Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) provide immediate care to patients experiencing urgent health issues or trauma. These clinics are staffed by EMTs trained to assess, stabilize, and treat a variety of medical emergencies before more advanced care, if needed, is provided in a hospital. EMT clinics may operate independently or as part of a larger healthcare network. Their main goal is to deliver rapid and effective pre-hospital care, often bridging the gap between emergency scenes and hospitals.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

In the context of emergency medical services, highly specialized roles such as paramedics or emergency medical technicians (EMTs) working in private or high-demand settings can sometimes earn around $2,000 per day, especially with overtime, advanced certifications, or in certain regions. These positions often require advanced training, certifications, and experience, and pay varies based on location, employer, and shift hours.
